Welcome to our newest series. In “Friday Favorites,” our team will share a handful of favorite items. These can range from clothes to beauty products to recipes to books and anything in between. Disclaimer: None of these companies are paying us to be included, we just like them! But Target, if you would like to pay us in gift cards … just putting it out there to the universe.

This week I’m bringing you some of my favorite things for “winter” in Hawaii. I use that term loosely; while we do not suffer subzero temperatures or even snow for that matter, the weather does become colder and the water conditions change. It is a season of rain, rough waters, surf competitions, and whale watching opportunities. Check out a few of my favorite things for this busy season!

DPHUe ACV rinse Friday Faves

DPHue ACV Hair Rinse

Apple cider vinegar has plenty of health advantages, but my favorite use is in my hair. Yes, my hair! I am not a redhead by nature (shh, don’t tell!) and I found this product to help maintain my vibrant red color. It also works to detox and exfoliate my scalp, which helps when the weather is dry and one is prone to a little dandruff. I use this once a week, and this bottle can last me over a month.

The smell is a little off-putting; it is vinegar. Despite that, my hair is left feeling clean and looking shiny. Once I tried this, I was hooked.

A New Day Long Cardigan

Even in Hawaii, the weather grows cold. Well, cooler.

I love having layers to take on and off as the temperatures change. This sweater from Target’s A New Day collection is cozy and warm. I really like the longer length and the tan color. It is a perfect sweater to pair for work or a chilly evening by the beach.

Picnik Austin Collagen Creamer

I am particular about what I will put in my coffee. But this creamer is everything I need in my multiple cups of caffeine each day. It is dairy-free and Paleo/Keto friendly. MCT oil and grass-fed collagen are welcome additions for their health and beauty benefits. Plus it tastes great, just like half-and-half. And no added sugar!

Picnik products are available in stores nationwide but can be difficult to find. However, you can order online and have them delivered right to your door. Just in time for your morning coffee!

KEEN Hiking Sandals

I never enjoyed hiking before moving to Hawaii. But this tropical island has me hooked with the opportunities to explore nature and find beauty at several hundred feet up. And winter is one of the best times to hike: the weather is a bit cooler, and there are less tourists to navigate on the trails.

Proper footwear is a must for hiking, and I love my KEEN hiking sandals. They are not too heavy and can be used on all terrains. Crossing a stream or getting in front of a waterfall for a photo op are easy with sandals to drain the water. Their sturdy rubber soles can navigate most terrains, too. For an average hiker, these sandals fit the bill.

No7 Lift & Luminate Skin Care System

Get yourself a moisturizer with SPF. No matter where you live or what the weather is like there, the sun is casting some harsh UV rays. A moisturizer with sunscreen saves you time and saves your skin.

I have been using No7 skincare for a few years, and this is my favorite trio. The day and night creams are smooth and effective on wrinkles and dull skin tone. The serum promises and delivers firmer skin, better tone, and less wrinkles in just two weeks. The brand has multiple products for any skincare need, but this system is my favorite.

A Book (or Two)

One of my life mottos is, “Bring a book everywhere.” I always have one in my bag or my car. A book goes with me to appointments, the beach, shopping, and even on a hike. You never know when you might need to pass the time, and I prefer a book to games on my phone. If I have a spare five minutes, you can usually find me with my nose in a book.

So naturally, I would recommend a book or two. My to-read shelf and list of books is much too long to give a specific book, and your reading preferences are your own. However, if you are ever looking for a good read, you can join our book club. I run this club, and our monthly picks vary into all genres. I’ve yet to have a terrible read!
