Welcome to our newest series. In “Friday Favorites,” our team will share a handful of favorite items. These can range from clothes to beauty products to recipes to books and anything in between.

That positive pink line is staring right at you after that long awaited 3 minutes, and you are overcome with all sorts of emotions and feelings. Welcome new Mama to motherhood and pregnancy! This is just the beginning of a new and incredible journey that your body will go through. As a soon to be mother of three, I’m sharing some of my prenancy favorites that have helped me along the incredible 9-month journey.

Maternity Leggings for Pregnancy

Maternity Leggings

During my first pregnancy, I spent a lot of time looking for comfortable pants and jeans. I invested in a few but always seemed to outgrow them after a few weeks. What I found to be the most comfortable and versatile of them all were leggings.

With each of my pregnancies, I have used leggings more than any other maternity clothing item. They are easy to get on and stretchy for that growing belly, and you can dress them up or down. It can become overwhelming with all the brand types out there though! My preferred brand so far is the over the belly fleece maternity leggings by Motherhood Maternity.

I’ve been fortunate enough to only experience pregnancy during the Midwest winters. But no matter what type of leggings you like for each season, a pair of comfy leggings is a must during pregnancy.

Playtex Maternity and Nursing Bra

A comfortable bra during pregnancy and after pregnancy is also a must. With my third pregnancy, I discovered an amazing all-in-one bra that I absolutely love and have recommend to friends: this Playtex women’s maternity shaping and nursing bra. It can be used during all the months of pregnancy and afterwards for nursing.  It’s a dual cup band size for flexibility as your breasts become larger during pregnancy and when your milk comes in. The band and straps are large and made of cool comforting material.

If you’re not wanting to spend a lot of money, this bra is no doubt a money saver. This bra has been the best one I’ve used while pregnant so far. Easily a new pregnancy favorite!

Lotions, creams and oils

Everyday Lotions, Creams and Oils

With my first pregnancy, I did a lot of research on lotions, creams and oils to help my belly and body avoid those stretch marks. While some mothers-to-be don’t mind it as part of their pregnancy journey, I did not want that for myself. I came up with a skin care routine that I’ve used for all three pregnancies.

My morning routine includes using any ultra-moisture lotion. Before bedtime I use my made-up mix consisting of castor oil, coconut oil, argon oil, and any essential oil for a nice smell. The castor oil and coconut oil are particularly excellent moisturizers and have healing properties for stretch marks.

U-Shaped Pregnancy Support Pillow

I’m all about items that are multifunctional and purposeful in everyday life! I love using a pregnancy support pillow for my growing belly. It helps my lower back and neck from all that tension and helps me sleep better at night. It unzips easily for washing any inevitable spills. This U-shaped pillow can also be used as a nursing pillow – a pregnancy and postpartum favorite!

Travel Bidet for pregnancy

Travel Bidet Bottle

This is another great multiuse item that I keep in all our bathrooms at home: a travel bidet bottle. These bidet bottles are great to use while pregnant because whether we like to admit it or not, some of us experience swelling or hemorrhoids during pregnancy. Nice cold water can help soothe things down there and help get things cleaned up when that big belly is in the way. They are also great for postpartum use to help make clean up easier and to alleviate soreness after a vaginal birth.

There are lots of travel bidets out there. I have mix of different brands, but I prefer the GoSpa Travel Bidet, it’s comes with a small bag to make it easier to take along in my purse.

  1. Pregnancy pillows are the BEST!! I just had a straight body pillow, but if I ever get pregnant again I definitely want one that wraps all the way around.
