The Blue Anchor Belles are bringing Boogie Woogie back to Pensacola!

You can follow them on Facebook here or Instagram here or by searching @blueanchorbelles.

We are a group of Navy wives who love to sing, and our heart is to provide music therapy to veterans and their families. We create unique three-part harmonies for beloved WWII-era music, bringing the top hits from the 40’s and 50’s to all generations.

It all started…

In 2016 in Oklahoma City when our husbands were stationed at Tinker AFB. We were just three women with a love of music who felt we were born in the wrong decade. Using the Andrews Sisters as our inspiration, we created our own unique arrangements of patriotic music from the 1940s. We soon began singing at assisted living centers and memory care facilities as a form of music therapy. What started as a desire to serve aging veterans and their families quickly grew into a passion to make these vintage songs relevant and loved by all generations.

While in Oklahoma, we were honored to perform at the Oklahoma State Fair, The Rodeo Oprey, Midwest City Veteran’s Day Parade, and other military and community events.

But military families don’t stay in one place for very long. When two of our husbands both got stationed in Florida in 2018, the Blue Anchor Belles officially “PCS’d” to Pensacola, and added two new, beautiful sopranos to our fold. Coming to Pensacola has been like coming home for us; not only is the rich history of Naval Aviation here close to our hearts, but the military, veteran, and civilian community has welcomed us with open arms.

We still are passionate about singing at assisted living facilities and memory care centers and have also been honored to perform at the National Naval Aviation Museum, Cordova Mall, NAS Whiting Field Navy Ball, The Saenger Theater, and many veterans’ and community events.

Are you near the Florida Panhandle and looking for unique entertainment or know a veteran or spouse who needs a personalized pick-me-up via video? Email [email protected] or contact them on social media for more information.

Amie Glazier
Originally from Denver, Amie enjoyed a break from cold winters while stationed in various southern locales with her husband, who is a pilot in the Navy. But they currently live outside Seattle, and she is now learning to love the rain. Amie and her husband have four small children who eat dinosaur chicken nuggets like they're going extinct and love all things aviation. After graduating with her B.A. in English, Amie worked in various fields with each military move, but never stopped writing. She has been a contributor for The Military Mom Collective since it was founded and finds joy in helping other moms connect in community. When she’s not writing or herding her adorable brood, you can find Amie working out at the local cross fit gym, binge-watching Hallmark movies, and actually enjoying chemistry while home-brewing with her husband. Amie is proud to be co-owner and Director of Partnerships for MilMC to help military families connect worldwide.
